Antonis Samaras expelled from ND parliamentary group

The expulsion of former Prime Minister and New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras from the ND Parliamentary Group was officially announced in the plenary session of Parliament.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Giorgos Georgantas, read the letter sent by Prime Minister and ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the President of Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, confirming Samaras’s removal from the ND Parliamentary Group.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, 19 November, the ND Ethics Committee, chaired by Yiannis Tragakis and including members Stavros Kalafatis, Kostas Tsiaras, Thanasis Bouras, and Theodoros Karaoglou, convened and unanimously decided to expel Samaras from the Parliamentary Group.

According to sources, no objections were raised during the meeting, which was notably brief and involved little discussion.
