Illegal hunting chase: Two arrested after causing a collision with a service vehicle

Date:

Police arrested two men, aged 24 and 23, today to facilitate investigations into ignoring a game warden’s signal, causing a road collision, and fleeing the scene.

Around 2:45 a.m. on 26 November 2025, Game Service officers patrolling a prohibited hunting area in Limassol province spotted a suspicious vehicle without registration plates. The car had an active spotlight on the front and they heard a gunshot from its direction.

The wardens signalled the driver to stop for inspection. He accelerated to escape. During the chase, he collided with the officers’ vehicle, causing material damage.

The wardens pursued the suspect but could not stop him.

Police received the report and secured witness testimony against the 24-year-old and 23-year-old. Courts issued arrest warrants. Officers detained them today.

Kalo Chorio Police Station investigates.
