Syria: Five civilians killed in explosion at weapons depot in Idlib

Date:

Five civilians died and nine others suffered injuries today when a weapons depot exploded in the town of Kafr Taharim in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province, the provincial internal security press office announced.

Victims remain under the rubble and rescue teams continue search and recovery efforts, state television channel Ekhbariya TV reported, citing an official.

Around twelve similar explosions in weapons storage sites have occurred across Syria over the past year, most commonly attributed to poor storage conditions.
