Red Cross receives hostage’s body from Gaza

Date:

The Israeli army said today that the Red Cross has received the body of a hostage from Gaza.

“According to information provided by the Red Cross, a coffin containing the body of a hostage has been placed in its care and is now being transported for handover to Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip,” the army said in a brief statement.

Under the ceasefire agreement that came into force on 10 October after more than two years of war in Gaza, Hamas must still return the bodies of three hostages: two Israelis and one Thai national, whose remains have been in Gaza since 7 October 2023.
