The Christodoulides Erhürman meeting will take place on Thursday, 20 November, at 9:30am, according to a written statement by Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis. The meeting will be held at the residence of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative, in the area of the old Nicosia airport, as part of the organisation’s efforts to relaunch the Cyprus talks.
President “approaching with constructive intent”
In his statement, Letymbiotis said President Nikos Christodoulides is approaching the meeting “with the same constructive intent and sincere political will,” reiterating that the Greek Cypriot goal remains the resumption of substantive negotiations from the point where talks broke off at Crans-Montana.
He stressed that any settlement must be based on UN Security Council resolutions, as well as the principles and values of the European Union.
