Fire breaks out in 71-year-old woman’s car in Strovolos

A fire in Strovolos broke out late on Wednesday night in the car of a 71-year-old woman, parked in the yard of her home.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11:50pm when flames erupted from the vehicle while it was parked outside the residence in Strovolos. The woman’s husband noticed the blaze and managed to extinguish it before it spread further.

Police and Fire Service officers arrived at the scene and conducted on-site examinations. The area was secured overnight for further investigation by the Fire Service and police on Thursday morning.

The fire in Strovolos caused damage to the rear left section of the car, particularly to the left taillight area.
