PHOTOS: Missile strikes apartment building in Beirut

With absolute clarity, detail, and precision, an Associated Press photographer managed to capture the moment an Israeli missile struck a residential building in Beirut.

When he heard the sound of the projectile, at that moment, Hassan Ammar already had his camera focused on the building, with the shutter speed set high to immediately take photos.

He managed to record the missile and its trajectory up to the point of impact, the massive explosion that followed, and the building’s collapse.

This frame-by-frame documentation of the bombing occurred on Friday, 15 November, in the Tayouneh suburb of Beirut. No casualties were reported in this attack, as the Israeli army had issued an evacuation warning with a map identifying the targeted building.
