Here are the traffic arrangements for the 1st October parade

The Police announce that on 1 October 2025, due to the Military Parade which will take place at 9 a.m. on Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue in Strovolos, the following roads will be temporarily closed to traffic:

  • The section of Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue, from its junction with Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to its junction with Athalassas Avenue, between 06:30 – 11:00.
  • The section of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, from the Tseriou roundabout to its junction with Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue, between 07:00 – 11:00.
  • The section of Dimitris Vikelas Street, from its junction with Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to the roundabout with Anexartisias Avenue (GSP), between 04:15 – 11:00.
  • The section of Perikleous Street, from its junction with Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue to its junction with Giannitson Street, between 07:00 – 11:00.
  • The section of Stavrou Avenue, from its junction with Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue to its junction with Giannitson Street, between 07:00 – 11:00.

In addition, from 09:00 until 11:00, traffic will be temporarily suspended on the section of Athalassas Avenue, from its junction with Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue to its junction with Lemesou Avenue, in order to facilitate the departure of all motorised units taking part in the parade.

During the above closures, drivers wishing to travel outside Nicosia are advised to head towards the Nicosia-Limassol highway via Lemesou Avenue (Kalispera traffic lights) and via the peripheral road, from the Tseriou roundabout before Tseri village. The same routes are recommended for drivers heading towards Nicosia.

At the same time, those wishing to move within the area enclosed by Athalassas Avenue, Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue, Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, and the Nicosia–Limassol motorway are advised to enter this area from the motorway exit near the Olympic House, and to exit via the junction to Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, near the Church of Panagia tou Trachona.

Drivers are urged to comply with the instructions of on-duty police officers.

It is also noted that the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) over the parade route is prohibited.
