Illegal trial of five Greek Cypriots continues in occupied territory

The illegal trial of five Greek Cypriots held in the Turkish-occupied territory of Cyprus is set to continue this morning.

The five have been unlawfully detained by the pseudo-state since 19 July.

On Friday, proceedings focused on the examination of so-called “prosecution witnesses.” Testimony was given by members of the pseudo-police as well as an officer of the occupying army.

Their evidence concerned the alleged violation of a so-called “military area” by the five Greek Cypriots.

The case has drawn widespread condemnation in the Republic of Cyprus, which stresses that both the detention and the process are illegal under international law.
