64 year old woman injured after guard dogs attack at recycling unit

A 64-year-old woman was seriously injured after being attacked by four guard dogs at a recycling unit in Ayios Ioannis Malountas, in the Nicosia district. According to the police, the incident occurred when the woman, an employee at the facility, went to open the dogs’ enclosure and was attacked under circumstances that are still under investigation.

She sustained bite wounds and injuries to various parts of her body and was taken to hospital, where she underwent surgery. Her condition is currently considered stable.

Police noted that the woman regularly opened the enclosure as part of her duties. Authorities are now investigating whether the dogs were properly licensed. The case is being handled by the Klirou Police Station.
