APOEL showed signs of improvement under new coach Pablo Garcia, but also highlighted that time is still needed — both for new players to settle in and for the squad to fully implement the tactical plans.
Throughout much of the match, APOEL dominated possession and generally controlled the flow of the game. However, a number of errors also revealed a lack of full readiness. While this didn’t cost them against Freedom24 Krasava ENY — a newly formed side themselves — it’s an issue the Nicosia club must address going forward.
Kostas Stafylidis made a strong impression, contributing an assist for APOEL’s second goal, while Korbu opened the scoring and also delivered a solid performance. The key takeaway for APOEL, however, will be the three points and the belief that the team is committed to improving with more work on and off the pitch.
