74-year-old man drowns while swimming in Limassol

A 74-year-old Greek Cypriot man has died after being found unconscious in the sea near the KOT beach area in Limassol. The incident occurred earlier today, prompting the immediate response of emergency services.

Initial reports indicate that the man was spotted floating in the water, unresponsive. He was pulled from the sea and an ambulance was called to the scene. He was transported to the Limassol General Hospital, where doctors on duty sadly confirmed his death.

The exact cause of death will be determined by a post-mortem examination, to be carried out at a later stage. Authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
