Trial for five Greek Cypriots accused of illegal entry in Strovilia

Date:

The trial of five Greek Cypriots accused of illegal entry in Strovilia resumed at a “military court” in the occupied part of Nicosia, with all defendants firmly denying the charges. The case concerns their alleged entry into a restricted military zone near Strovilia, located in the buffer zone between the Republic of Cyprus and the occupied north.

According to reports, a “police officer” testified in court on Thursday, submitting photographic evidence said to show warning signs posted in the area, along with images of the defendants’ vehicle. The material was also submitted in digital form for the record.

The proceedings were temporarily adjourned at midday on Thursday but remain ongoing.
