Man in 8 day detention in Larnaca theft investigation

A man has been remanded in Larnaca theft investigation following his arrest in connection with a reported break-in. The 31-year-old suspect was detained on Wednesday afternoon, 20 August, as part of a police inquiry into the theft, which allegedly took place between 14 and 16 August at a property in Larnaca.

According to a police statement, evidence was gathered and assessed during the investigation, leading to testimony that implicated the suspect. Based on this evidence, a judicial arrest warrant was issued, and the man was taken into custody to assist with ongoing inquiries.

He appeared before the Larnaca District Court on Thursday, where a judge ordered his detention for eight days. The Larnaca CID (Criminal Investigation Department) is continuing its investigation into the matter.
