A seasonal low pressure system is currently affecting the region, bringing mostly clear skies but also periods of locally increased cloud cover, particularly in western areas. Temperatures remain high and winds are expected to strengthen gradually, especially along the southwestern coast.
According to the official weather bulletin, today’s conditions will be mainly clear, although locally increased cloud cover will develop at times—most notably in the west. Winds will blow predominantly south-westerly to north-westerly. Initially light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, they will gradually become moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and later locally very strong at 5 to 6 Beaufort in the southwest.
Seas will range from slight to moderate, although calmer conditions are expected in southern and eastern coastal areas during the early part of the day.
Temperatures will reach around 36°C inland, approximately 31°C on the western and southwestern coasts, about 34°C along other coastal areas, and 29°C in the higher mountainous regions.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear, although some passing low clouds are expected in the west and north. Winds will again be south-westerly to north-westerly, light and locally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will become gradually calm to slight in the south and east, while remaining slight to moderate elsewhere.
Overnight temperatures will drop to around 21°C inland, 23°C on the coasts, and 18°C in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear, with some intermittent local cloud cover.
Temperatures will gradually rise through Thursday, remaining slightly above the seasonal average.
