Man hospitalised after police chase in Limassol

A 31-year-old man is being treated at Limassol General Hospital following a police chase in Limassol that ended in his arrest on Sunday. A small quantity of drugs was reportedly found in his possession.

According to a police statement, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when an officer spotted a quad bike being driven without number plates in the Limassol area. The driver was also not wearing a helmet.

The officer signalled for the driver to stop for inspection, but he failed to comply and attempted to flee. Police said the suspect drove recklessly and dangerously, even entering oncoming traffic.

At one point, the quad bike collided with a car, bringing it to a halt. Upon searching the suspect, police found a small quantity of cannabis, a grinder, and a knife. He was arrested on the spot for offences committed in flagrante delicto.

The 31-year-old sustained injuries from the collision and was taken by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital. He was diagnosed with a spinal fracture and remains hospitalised.
