President to meet US experts on Limassol wildfire this morning

Date:

President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides will meet this morning at the Presidential Palace with the team of American experts assisting with the investigation into the Limassol wildfire.

The ten-member team from the US Department of Justice’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is currently in Cyprus at the invitation of the President. The team consists of specialised investigators in arson and accident analysis, brought in to support the evaluation and investigation of the deadly wildfire in Limassol.

As Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis told CNA, the team will brief the President upon completion of their initial investigations and present preliminary findings. A detailed report is expected to follow in the coming weeks.
