Two foreign nationals hospitalised after strangers attack Larnaca

Date:

Two 20-year-old men are being treated at Larnaca General Hospital, one with a broken nose and the other with head injuries, following an attack in the early hours of Monday on Stratigou Timaya Avenue.

According to the Cyprus Police Communication Branch, the assault took place around 2am on Monday, 11 August, when police received information about a fight involving young individuals in the area. Officers who arrived at the scene found two injured foreign nationals, both aged 20.

The two were immediately transported to Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors confirmed that one of the men had sustained a nasal fracture, while the second suffered head injuries. Both remain hospitalised for treatment and observation.

Initial investigations suggest that the injuries were caused by an attack carried out by a group of unknown assailants.

Police investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby surveillance systems to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the assault.

The case is currently under investigation by the Larnaca CID (Criminal Investigation Department).
