President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides held a brief meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Baku, where the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is taking place.
According to government sources, Antonio Guterres informed that plans for convening an expanded meeting are proceeding according to what was discussed following the Informal Dinner on 15 October and that he has received agreement from all parties involved.
It is noted that in the coming period, Assistant Secretary-General Di Carlo will make a visit for coordination and on-site preparation, as the UN Secretary-General aims for a productive outcome from this meeting.
