Snake casually slithers through Cape Greco

Date:

Drivers in the Cape Greco area of Protaras had an unusual encounter on Sunday afternoon- a snake casually crossing the main road.

The reptile was seen slithering along Cape Greco Avenue, with several vehicles passing directly over it. Remarkably, none of the cars hit the animal, and the snake appeared unfazed by the traffic.

The brief moment was captured on video and shared by Road Report Cyprus, showing the snake’s close call in broad daylight.

The footage has since drawn attention online, with many surprised at how calmly the snake navigated the busy road- and how narrowly it avoided becoming roadkill.

While snakes are not uncommon in Cyprus, it’s rare to see one so publicly in such a high-traffic area.
