Hot weather and strong winds forecast today

Date:

Seasonal low pressure continues to affect the region with mainly clear skies and rising temperatures expected across Cyprus today.

Winds will be primarily south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, but may reach strong levels of 4 to 5 Beaufort locally in windward areas during the afternoon.

Daytime temperatures will rise to 38°C inland, around 30°C on the western coast, about 33°C across the remaining coastal regions, and 31°C in the higher mountains. Seas will be slightly rough.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear, though isolated areas may see light fog or low cloud forming overnight. Winds will remain light and variable, mainly south-westerly to north-westerly at 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 23°C inland and along the coast, and 20°C in the highest mountains.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring mostly clear skies once again. On Wednesday and Thursday, conditions will remain generally fair, though some localised cloud build-up is expected around midday, particularly in the mountains. These clouds may produce isolated showers in some areas.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly throughout the three-day period, continuing to hover near seasonal averages.
