Court appearance for suspects in prison crime ring

Date:

All individuals involved in the case of a criminal organisation operating from within the Central Prisons appeared before the court on Friday morning.

The case has been referred to the Criminal Court.

It concerns the 48-year-old convicted felon, the 37-year-old socialite with whom he was in a relationship, her parents aged 73 and 72, her brother, a 26-year-old prison officer, and another suspect aged 40.

According to the information revealed so far, the current inmate in the Central Prisons is believed to be the mastermind behind the criminal group.

The 26-year-old prison officer appears to have acted as a guardian angel for the convicted felon. As was heard in court, the young officer exchanged messages with the 37-year-old woman who was in a relationship with the inmate. She would inform her of any upcoming searches planned to take place in the Central Prisons.
