The 37-year-old woman wanted by police in connection with corruption and money laundering offences was arrested on Friday morning at the Nicosia District Court, shortly after 10:00 a.m., police confirmed.
The arrest comes one day after authorities released Natalie Tziapoura’s name and photo, seeking public assistance in locating her. Her lawyer had previously stated she intended to appear voluntarily at court.
Police have also revealed that four other individuals have already been arrested as part of the same case, which involves a range of serious financial crimes, including:
- Conspiracy to commit a felony
- Conspiracy to commit a misdemeanour
- Offences under the Prevention of Corruption Law
- Unlawful possession of property
- Violations of anti-money laundering laws
In a further development, police are now searching for a fifth suspect, a 40-year-old man also wanted in connection with the investigation.
The man is described as being of average build, approximately 1.75m tall, with short grey-black hair.
Anyone with information that could assist in locating this final suspect is urged to contact the CID Headquarters, the Citizens’ Line at 1460, or their nearest police station.
The case remains under investigation by the CID Headquarters (Operations).
