Local showers today, warmer weather ahead this week

Date:

A weak low-pressure system and relatively unstable air mass are affecting the region, leading to localised weather phenomena today, Monday. Conditions are expected to gradually improve, with temperatures set to rise over the coming days.

Detailed forecast:

Today, intervals of locally increased cloud cover are expected, especially around midday and in the afternoon, bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains, inland areas, and the east.

Winds will initially be light, blowing from the southeast to southwest, and locally from the northeast at around 3 Beaufort. Later in the day, winds will shift mainly to south-westerly to north-westerly directions, remaining light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will be calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will reach 34°C inland, around 30°C along the coast, and 28°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will generally blow from the northwest, light and occasionally moderate in local areas, at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will remain calm to slightly rough. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 21°C inland and on the coasts, and 18°C in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday, skies will remain mostly clear, although increased local cloud cover is expected around midday and early afternoon, bringing isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm—mainly in mountainous areas.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly clear, with temperatures steadily rising throughout the three-day period. By Thursday, temperatures are forecast to remain above the seasonal average.
