Temperature stuck in the high 30s this week

A blistering heatwave continues to grip Cyprus, with temperatures well above seasonal norms, and no significant change expected through Friday.

According to the Meteorology Department, today’s maximum temperatures will reach around 38°C inland, 31°C along the southeastern, eastern, and northern coasts, and 29°C in other coastal areas and the highest mountains.

Forecast in detail:

This morning, following the dissipation of morning fog and low cloud, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will start off light and variable at 3 Beaufort, later becoming sea breezes at 3–4 Beaufort. The sea will remain calm to slightly rough.

Tonight will be mostly clear, though fog and low cloud are expected locally later on. Winds will become light and variable at 2–3 Beaufort.

From Wednesday through Friday, conditions will stay largely clear, though patchy fog and low cloud may form at night and early morning, particularly in coastal regions.

No major changes in temperature are expected during the week, with values continuing above the climatological average.
