BREAKING: Buggy plunges 50 metres into ravine in Akamas

A serious accident occurred earlier today in the Smigies area of Akamas, when a buggy veered off course and plunged into a ravine approximately 50 metres deep, according to Sigma correspondent Marios Ignatiou.

The vehicle was carrying a young Russian couple visiting Paphos for a short holiday. Both were injured in the fall.

Emergency services, including the Ambulance Service and Fire Department, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Firefighters assisted in rescuing the injured pair from the steep and rugged terrain.

The couple was transported by ambulance to hospital for medical attention and further tests.

Initial reports suggest that fortunately, their injuries are not serious.

Investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
