Kokkinotrimithia: 33-year-old caught driving stolen car illegally

Date:

During a traffic stop yesterday afternoon on Makariou Avenue in Kokkinotrimithia, members of the Traffic Department (OPOD) pulled over a vehicle driven by a 33-year-old man.

Subsequent checks revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle without a licence, insurance, a valid road tax certificate, or a roadworthiness certificate.

Furthermore, the vehicle had been reported stolen on 15 May 2025 at Nicosia Central Police Station. As a result, the driver was arrested for illegal possession of property.

Further investigation by the Aliens and Immigration Service (YAM) confirmed that the 33-year-old is in Cyprus illegally.
