Date:

The Cypriot team is heading to Madrid, Spain, for the 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, taking place on Saturday, 16 November, from 19:00 to 21:00, broadcast live.

This year’s Cypriot representative, 11-year-old Maria Pissarides from Nicosia, promises to energise audiences with her performance of the song “Crystal Waters.” Maria, who attends a performing arts school in London, will be joined on stage by a talented dance team: Ciara Economopoulos, Andriana Polemiti, Danae Petrou, and Andriana Markic.

The song’s composition and lyrics were crafted by Sofia Patsalidou, Armin HIGHMORE Gilani, and Maria Pissarides. Layla Ellison has taken on the artistic direction, with assistant choreographer Elena Zacharia, while vocal coaching was provided by Sofia Patsalidou.

The commentary for the event will be delivered by Kyriakos Pastides, with Cyprus’s votes announced by Patroklos Patroklou.

Voting Process
Voting is online via the website jesc.tv and will take place in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Opens Friday, 15 November, at 22:00 Cyprus time and closes on Saturday, 16 November, at 18:59, just before the contest begins.
  • Stage 2: Reopens after the final song performance during the contest and remains open for about 15 minutes.

Participation in voting is free, and Cypriot viewers are encouraged to support Cyprus by voting for their entry. Audience votes will be converted into points, which will be revealed during the contest.

Good luck to Cyprus! Good luck, Maria!
