Hit-and-run incident in Larnaca: Motorcyclist attacks police officer

A hit-and-run incident in Larnaca took a violent turn when the motorcyclist involved reportedly attacked an off-duty police officer who had approached the scene to offer assistance.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Larnaca, involving a motorcycle collision. An off-duty police officer, witnessing the accident, attempted to provide help. However, the motorcyclist reacted aggressively, attacking the officer before fleeing the scene.

Authorities were able to track down the motorcyclist, who is now in police custody at the Larnaca Police Department for questioning. Meanwhile, the off-duty officer is undergoing medical examinations following the assault.

No injuries reported from the collision

Police have confirmed that no other individuals were injured in the road collision. The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Larnaca Traffic Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding both the traffic incident and the assault.

Authorities are seeking additional witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation. More details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
