Helpline for Takata airbag recall appointment issues

Date:

The Department of Road Transport (TOM) is urging citizens who have been unable to arrange an appointment for the implementation of the recall concerning defective Takata airbags to contact the Department’s dedicated call centre for recall-related issues for further guidance.

Specifically, in a statement issued within the context of market supervision and monitoring of the recall involving defective Takata airbags, the TOM calls on citizens who have already contacted an authorised distributor of their vehicle but have been unable to arrange an appointment for the recall to contact the Department’s recall-focused call centre for further assistance at the phone number 22-600500.

It adds that the call centre operates Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 15:00.

“The safety of citizens is a priority, and the timely implementation of the recall is an act of responsibility for the protection of ourselves and those around us,” the TOM concludes.
