The Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC) hosted from April 11 to April 13 in Nicosia the international festival Roots and Routes showcasing emerging artists.
In a press release THOC notes that the International Theatre Festival for emerging theatre creators, bringing together new voices from 12 European countries, was the concluding event of the three-year Theatre in Palm project.

According to THOC, the festival “confirmed Cyprus’ potential as a point of reference for contemporary theatre creation in Europe and gave an impetus to emerging artists to network, meet other artists and exchange experiences and views within the framework of their empowerment”, which was the aim of the Theatre in Palm project, it said.
THOK said that the festival, which was “the largest it has organised so far”, “highlighted the dynamism and creativity of the new generation of theatre artists”, through a diverse programme of performances, presentations and discussions.
Artists from Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Finland attended the event, it said.
