Cyprus-Oracle discuss cloud partnership for digital transformation

Date:

Cyprus’ digital transition with a focus on cloud infrastructure was discussed on Tuesday, in San Francisco, between President Nikos Christodoulides and Luke Kowalski, Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs and Compliance of Oracle.

In a post on X, President Christodoulides said that he discussed with Kowalski Cyprus’ digital transition with a focus on cloud infrastructure and how Oracle can support the digital transformation of the country and the economy.

Government Spokesman, Konstantinos Letymbiotis said in his own post on X that the meeting with Oracle leadership aimed at further contributing to Cyprus’ digital transition with a focus on cloud infrastructure and supporting the digital transformation of the state and the economy.

Cyprus, he noted, “seeks to act as a regional hub in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, capitalizing on its geostrategic position and dynamic technological development”.

According to the Spokesperson, the possibility of collaborating with the government, to serve the needs and strategic goals of Cyprus, was discussed, as well as the creation of a skills development initiative, which aims to develop local technology talent and support job placements.

“Cyprus offers not only a favourable environment for the development of such projects – through tax incentives, stability and talent – but also a strong political will for long-term partnerships with technology leaders such as Oracle”, he added. The Government’s ambition is to make Cyprus a model of digital governance and a gateway for digital services and innovation in the wider region, Letymbiotis noted.
