Police arrest 51 third country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus

The Cyprus Police arrested Sunday 51 third-country nationals, who were residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.

In a press release, it says that it has already repatriated ten persons, while it began procedures for the immediate repatriation of the remaining 41 persons, in cooperation with other competent Authorities.

It is noted that the arrests took place in the context of a new large-scale operation by the Aliens and Immigration Service, on Sunday, to locate third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus.

Since the beginning of the year, 3,105 third-country nationals residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus have been deported/repatriated, while during the corresponding period last year, 2,890 persons had been repatriated.

It says that the efforts of the Police to identify and repatriate persons residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus continue daily.
