Cypriot found dead following pub disturbance in London

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a man was attacked following a disturbance at a pub in Lewisham, south-east London.

The Met Police was called to reports of an assault in Lewisham High Street at about 20:30 GMT (22:30 Cyprus time) on 1 March, where Charlie Prodromou, 63, was found with life-threatening injuries. He later died in hospital.

Paul Tallant, 42, from Eltham, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The Met said it believed Mr Prodromou was assaulted after a disturbance at The Watch House pub and confirmed no weapons were involved.

Mr Tallant was remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday.
