Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni met with the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus Kostas Koumis, on Monday.
They discussed the strengthening and coordination of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Greece and Cyprus in the tourism sector.

Koumis assured Kefalogianni that he would support Greece’s candidacy to the UN Tourism, both for the position of Secretary General and for the renewal of Greece’s term on the Executive Board of the Organisation.
On the occasion of the upcoming Cypriot presidency of the Council of the EU (from 1 January 2026), possible synergies between the two countries in the field of tourism were explored. These relate to sustainable tourism development and addressing the effects of climate change on tourism.
The planning of joint travel packages to distant destinations such as the US and China was also discussed.
