Cypriot champion Marios Georgiou is one of the candidates for the title of “Gymnast of the Year” by European Gymnastics, the Cyprus Gymnastics Federation said in a post on social media.
Other candidates are Harry Hepworth from the UK, Magnus Lindholmer from Denmark, Ivan Litvinovich from Belarus and Rhys McClenaghan from Ireland.
Georgiou finished sixth at the horizontal bar final during the last Summer Olympics in Paris. He is also the 2024 European all-around champion and the 2022 European horizontal bar champion, the first gymnast from Cyprus to win a European title and a major all-around title.
