Bomb explosion at house entrance in Limassol district

Date:

Damage to the main entrance and furniture of a house, which had not yet been occupied, was caused by an explosive device that detonated in the early hours in the Limassol District.

According to the Limassol CID, the explosion occurred at approximately 3:15 am at a house owned by a 34-year-old woman, located in a municipal area in western Limassol. The house had not yet been inhabited by her and her family.

The scene was cordoned off, and preliminary examinations by a bomb disposal expert revealed that the explosion was caused by the detonation of an improvised explosive device placed on the floor in front of the main entrance. The blast caused damage to the metal door as well as minor damage to the furniture.

The Limassol CID’s investigations are ongoing.
