64-year-old dies after Augorou moped accident

A 64-year-old man, Panagiotis Theofanous from Augorou, died at Nicosia General Hospital after crashing his moped into a house wall on the afternoon of 16 January.

Accident details

Police reported that the man lost control of his moped under circumstances that are still under investigation and collided with the wall of a neighbouring house. He sustained serious injuries, including internal bleeding and a traumatic brain injury, and was initially transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital.

Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital for further treatment, where he later died.

Famagusta Traffic Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
