63-year-old cyclist dies after collision with car

Police are investigating a fatal crash in Nicosia that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, claiming the life of 63-year-old Giorgos Kalligas from Strovolos.

According to Police, at around 3:15 pm, the 63-year-old was riding his bicycle along Agias Marinas Street at its junction with Strovolos Avenue when, under circumstances that remain under investigation, he collided with a car driven by a 40-year-old woman.

Victim pronounced dead at hospital

Police officers attended the scene to carry out examinations, while an ambulance transported the cyclist to Nicosia General Hospital.

The doctor on duty confirmed the death of the 63-year-old shortly after his arrival.

Investigation ongoing

The crash is being investigated by the Nicosia Traffic Department, which continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
