61-year-old woman intubated after Limassol road accident

A 61-year-old woman is hospitalised in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle on Monday morning in the Ypsonas area of Limassol.

Accident under investigation

According to Police, the road accident occurred around 7:00am while the woman was attempting to cross a street under circumstances that are still being examined. She was hit by a car driven by a 33-year-old woman.

Police officers attended the scene to conduct investigations, while an ambulance crew transported the injured pedestrian to a private hospital in Limassol.

Serious injuries

Medical examinations revealed that the 61-year-old sustained severe head injuries, as well as injuries to her ribs and right leg. She is currently intubated in the Intensive Care Unit, with her condition described by treating doctors as very serious.

The Limassol Traffic Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
