49-year-old woman arrested for €720,000 fraud

A 49-year-old woman was arrested today by the Police, under a court-issued arrest warrant, in connection with an investigation into a case involving obtaining property by false pretences and money laundering.

According to a complaint filed on 11 July 2025 with the Paphos CID by a 75-year-old man, the suspect, a resident of Nicosia, presented herself to him as a former bank employee between May 2023 and October 2024.

Furthermore, the suspect allegedly told him that she had connections and could assist him in acquiring properties and plots of land at bargain prices.

According to the complaint, the 75-year-old paid the 49-year-old a total sum of €720,000. However, he later discovered that no property titles had been registered in his name.

Paphos CID (TAE) is continuing its investigations.
