Man arrested over blast in Paphos
A Paphos arrest was made on Wednesday, as Police detained a 46-year-old man to assist with investigations into a blast that occurred on March 30, 2026.
According to the Cyprus Police, the explosion took place in the early hours of Monday at company offices in Paphos.
Damage caused by improvised device
The blast caused damage to the glass entrance and the walls of the building.
Examinations at the scene established that the explosion was caused by the detonation of an improvised incendiary device, which contained a factory-made firecracker.
Evidence leads to arrest
Further investigations secured evidence against the 46-year-old suspect, leading to the issuance of a court arrest warrant. He was located and arrested in Paphos on Wednesday afternoon.
During a search, police found 4.5 grams of cannabis and a knife in his possession, which were seized as evidence.
The Paphos CID is investigating the case.
