40-year-old woman struck while crossing road in Paphos

A road accident occurred on Monday afternoon (27 April) when a 40-year-old foreign national was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross Sotiraki Markidi Street.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Medical officials confirmed that her condition is serious but not life-threatening.

Police investigate circumstances

The Paphos Traffic Police are investigating the causes of the accident.

Authorities are examining all available evidence to determine how the collision occurred, including witness statements and road conditions at the time of the incident.

Road safety concerns

The incident adds to ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety on busy urban roads in Cyprus, particularly in areas with high traffic flow and limited crossing infrastructure.

Investigations are continuing.
