40-Year-Old woman arrested for €29,250 loan restructuring scam

Date:

Police arrested a 40-year-old woman on Monday evening for running a loan restructuring scam that defrauded two people of €29,250.

The victims, aged 73 and 53, told Nicosia CID that between 2023 and 2025 the suspect convinced them she could secure loan restructuring deals. She collected €23,750 from the older victim and €5,500 from the younger one.

When they realised she had deceived them, they reported the fraud to police in October.

Officers obtained a court warrant and arrested the woman shortly after 8:00 pm yesterday. She remains in custody while Nicosia CID continues the investigation.
