A cybercrime arrest was carried out following information received from Europol regarding alleged possession of child sexual abuse material, police said.
Members of the Cybercrime Subdivision, together with the Forensic Digital Evidence Laboratory and the Limassol Crime Prevention Unit, conducted a court-ordered search at the suspect’s home in Limassol.
Digital devices seized during search
During the operation, authorities confiscated two mobile phones, two external storage devices and a tablet for further forensic examination.
The materials were collected as part of ongoing scientific analysis linked to the investigation.
Court orders four-day detention
The 35-year-old suspect was arrested under a court warrant and appeared before the Limassol District Court, which issued a four-day remand order.
The arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation, with the Cybercrime Subdivision continuing its examinations.
Investigation ongoing
Police said the investigation remains active, with digital forensic analysis expected to determine the full scope of the case.
Authorities did not release further details due to the sensitivity of the investigation.
