A 33-year-old man wanted by authorities in the United States for alleged financial offences has been arrested at Larnaca Airport.
According to police, the suspect was located and detained on Tuesday afternoon after authorities identified that an arrest warrant issued by US authorities was pending against him.
Extradition proceedings begin
The 33-year-old is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court on Wednesday for the start of extradition proceedings.
Police said the extradition process will determine whether the suspect will be transferred to the United States to face the allegations against him.
Investigation ongoing
Authorities have not released further details regarding the nature of the alleged financial offences.
Police investigations are continuing.
