27-year-old motorcyclist in critical condition after crash

A 27-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition following a serious road accident on Monday evening near the Limassol district.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. on the Pera Pedi–Saïta road. Under circumstances still under investigation, the young man lost control of his motorbike and was thrown from the vehicle after it overturned.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the 27-year-old motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a private hospital in Limassol, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Doctors have described his condition as critical.

The case is being investigated by the Lania Police Station, with officers examining the scene and gathering evidence to determine the exact cause of the crash.

This marks yet another serious collision involving motorcycles, raising continued concern about road safety in rural and mountain areas, particularly at night and in areas with sharp turns or limited visibility.

Authorities are urging all road users to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits and safety guidelines, especially on secondary roads and less frequently patrolled routes.
