Police have discovered another 260kg of suspected ketamine in a warehouse in Limassol, following the seizure of 126kg of ketamine during a major drug operation.
The new quantity was found earlier on Monday as investigations continued into the large-scale seizure.
According to police, the substance initially appears to be the same as the ketamine previously seized.
126kg of ketamine seized in Limassol
The latest discovery follows a major operation in Limassol two days earlier, during which police searched the homes of a 50-year-old man and a 53-year-old man.
At the home of the 53-year-old, where his 51-year-old wife was also present, police found:
- 34g of cocaine
- 246.5g of ketamine
- 15g of mephedrone
- 12g of MDMA
- €4,150 in cash
- 42 packs of untaxed cigarettes
- Mobile phones and other evidence
At the home of the 50-year-old, where he was present with his 35-year-old wife, police found 126kg and 630g of ketamine, as well as precision scales, mobile phones and other evidence.
Four suspects arrested
The four suspects were arrested under court warrants and are expected to appear before court on Monday for the issuance of detention orders as part of the investigation.
The suspects are two couples from Palestine and Israel.
Investigations are continuing by the Limassol Drug Law Enforcement Unit (DLEU).
