22-year-old man caught trying to burgle ATM

At around 2 a.m. today, the alarm system of a bank’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on the Larnaca–Dhekelia road was activated.

Police officers attended the scene, where they found a 22-year-old man attempting to cut through the ATM door using an electric cutting tool (grinder).

He was arrested on the spot for the offences of attempted theft and possession of burglary tools and was subsequently taken into custody.

The Oroklini Police Station is continuing the investigation.
