22-year-old Cypriot wanted for criminal offences arrested in Greece

Greek authorities have detained a 22-year-old Cypriot in Thessaloniki following a Cypriot warrant linked to serious criminal offences.

European warrant issued in Nicosia

Authorities confirmed that the Nicosia District Court had issued a European arrest warrant against the suspect.

Investigators in Cyprus are seeking him in connection with alleged involvement in a criminal organisation, arson and illegal proceeds.

Extradition process begins

Officials will bring the 22-year-old before the Thessaloniki Court of Appeal prosecutor to begin extradition procedures to Cyprus.

The legal process will determine the timeline for his return to face the charges connected to the arrest.
